1. 1Move furniture, electronics and valuables clear of the drip zone.
2. 2Catch water in buckets and protect the floor with towels or plastic.
3. 3If ceiling paint is bulging with water, pierce a small hole to drain it safely into a bucket (prevents a larger collapse).
4. 4Turn off power to affected light fittings at the switchboard.
5. 5Photograph everything. It helps our triage and your insurance claim.
